This piece was commissioned as a retirement gift for her husband by a quilter who planned to do the finish quilting stitching herself. The symbols all represent the military pararescue unit in which her husband served. The quilter planned to hand embroider her husband's name and the dates of service in the white open block in the center of the quilt.
