In the summer of 2020, during quarantine lockdown for Covid 19, I took a series of 13 drawing lessons offered on Zoom by William Zwick of the Zwick Academy of Fine Art (ZAFA). Lessons focused on sight size, values, and composition. Other topic subject matter included still life, figure drawing, portraiture via copying master paintings, and landscapes. Sketches were done in charcoal.
After each lesson, I then made a quilt square based on the sketch of the day. At the end of the course, I combined the quilt squares, added two t-shirt squares made from ZAFA t-shirts. The completed piece is shown below. Close ups of sections, along with reference photos, follow.
